Millhill Child and Family Development Center Services

Early Care and Education - Overview

Millhill was one of the first, and remains one of the few child development centers in the Trenton area to have achieved accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC.) This accreditation confirms that the Center has undergone a voluntarily comprehensive self study and invited an external professional to verify Millhill’s compliance with the Criteria for High Quality Early Childhood Programs.

Children from low-income families are more likely to start school with limited language skills, health problems, and social and emotional problems that interfere with learning.  The larger the gap at school entry, the harder it is to close.  Research shows that early interventions can help reverse the negative effects of poverty.

We offer comprehensive early care and education for over 120 children ages 2 years to 6 years old. The program is based on developmentally appropriate practices which create an effective learning environment for each individual child. For planning, our teaching staff uses Creative Curriculum.

Our teachers provide a safe and nurturing environment in which the children can learn and grow to their fullest potential. They also work closely with their social service and behavioral health colleagues to plan an individualized program for every child.
